New Study: NMN Improves Muscle Function

Yamauchi and colleagues from the University of Tokyo report in Nature Aging that 12 weeks of NMN supplementation more than doubles NAD+ levels in the blood and improves walking speed in older, healthy men.

These findings reinforce previous research, which has shown that NMN supplementation increases NAD+ levels in human blood. Additionally, the study suggests that NMN supplementation may potentially help mitigate muscle aging (sarcopenia).

NMN More Than Doubles Blood NAD+ Levels and Improves Walking Speed

Since studies on rodents have demonstrated a positive correlation between increased NAD+ levels with NMN and the mitigation of age-related physiological decline, Japanese researchers examined the effects of NMN on blood NAD+ levels in older men.

They found that NMN supplementation more than doubles NAD+ concentrations in the blood. Moreover, levels of NAD+ synthesis metabolites, such as nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NAMN), increase with 12 weeks of supplementation.

These findings suggest that long-term NMN supplementation enhances NAD+ synthesis and raises its levels in the blood, which may help improve physical performance and support muscle function.

Yamauchi and Colleagues Examined Walking Speed and Grip Strength

The goal was to determine whether increased NAD+ levels contribute to improved muscle performance. The research team found that after 6 and 12 weeks of NMN supplementation, walking speed and left-hand grip strength significantly improved.

However, right-hand grip strength did not improve, indicating that enhanced physical function due to NMN supplementation may provide a way to mitigate age-related muscle weakness and endurance decline.

What is NMN?

NMN is a low-molecular-weight molecule that is easily absorbed by all cells, where it is converted into NAD+. NAD+ is present in all our cells and supports the regeneration of red blood cells, which can be damaged due to various deficiencies.

Additionally, NMN acts as a powerful oxidative agent and energy source in the body. Our body naturally produces its own NAD+, but as we age, its levels decline.

Studies suggest that NMN supplementation may potentially help mitigate muscle aging (sarcopenia). It would be a mistake to think that the key to healthy longevity lies solely in cold exposure, fasting, or lifelong abstinence.

A crucial role is also played by diet, dietary supplements, and scientifically proven anti-aging medications. As we age, our body naturally stops producing NAD+, and its deficiency accelerates aging, leading to cell degeneration.

Benefits of NMN Supplementation from Anjolie

"We decided to produce NMN for two main reasons. First and foremost, we value its beneficial effects, which we have tested on ourselves for a long time. We believe in its effectiveness and know that it works. The second reason was the price. Our own production, compared to other manufacturers, makes NMN accessible to a wider audience, which brings us great satisfaction."

Our capsules contain one gram of pure NMN per day at a very affordable price.
